Summary

A low pressure system will develop south of the Great Lakes region Monday night and approach the Maritimes on Tuesday. Rain associated with this system will begin over southwestern Nova Scotia Tuesday afternoon and spread to the remainder of the province Tuesday night. A period of snow is possible over northern areas of the province before quickly changing to rain. There are indications that some areas of the province could receive heavy rainfall and rainfall warnings may be required in future forecasts. In addition, strong southeasterly winds will accompany this system Tuesday night giving higher than normal water levels and rough surf along the Atlantic coast. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
