Freezing Rain Warning

Issued at 01:19 Wednesday 21 February 2018

Summary

Freezing rain is expected or occurring. An extended period of freezing rain is impacting much of New Brunswick overnight into Wednesday morning before temperatures rise above freezing. A trough of low pressure approaching from the west is giving rain, ice pellets and freezing rain to New Brunswick. Later this morning, the trough will move north of the province allowing temperatures to rise well above the freezing mark changing the precipitation to rain or drizzle before ending in the evening. ### Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
