Special Weather Statement

Issued at 22:06 Monday 18 February 2019

Summary

A low pressure system may intensify as it passes New England and then impact the Maritimes on Thursday. Current guidance is showing the system reaching western Nova Scotia and then continuing eastward. Snow would spread throughout Nova Scotia during the day Thursday and increase in intensity especially over western portions of the province. Some rain may mix with the snow along the south shore before the system moves offshore. It is too early to provide precise snowfall amounts but it is anticipated that accumulations could be significant enough to disrupt transportation. Should the track or intensity of this system change as it approaches our region this scenario could change. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.
