Summary

Another round of mixed weather on the way for tonight through Friday night. A low pressure system will approach from the southwest today and then cross southeastern Newfoundland on Friday night. Snow and rain will spread northward across the Island ahead of this system tonight and continue on Friday. Precipitation is expected to fall mainly as snow in western and central Newfoundland with accumulations near 5 cm for most areas by Friday evening and further amounts expected Friday night. The remainder of the Island will likely see a brief period of snow changing to or mixing with rain, with a risk of freezing rain. Warnings are not currently expected with this system, but a slight change in track or intensity could affect the location, type, and amount of precipitation.
