Special Weather Statement

Issued at 04:41 Friday 24 May 2019

Summary

An extended period of rain showers with a risk of localised flash floods. A low pressure system over Washington state will result in widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms for the southwest interior. Total rainfall amounts will be variable across the region, with 10 to 20 mm expected today. Any areas affected by thunderstorms could see locally higher amounts in excess of 25 mm. These higher rainfall amounts, particularly if concentrated over the same area or over unstable slopes, may generate localised flash floods or landslides. Rain showers will continue Saturday, with additional rainfall amounts. Rain showers will become scattered late on Saturday as the low weakens. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
